British Gas - Increased my payment laughable!!

hi there,
I have been paying brit gas 45.00 a month for gas for a long time and this time last year i was 152.oo in credit, they tried puttin git up last year a little bit and their excuse was to help us over the winter rather than getting a big bill , so we made it clear that we would deal with the issue of a bill after christmas if we used the gas - why should the money sit in their bank account. anyway today I get a letter saying my dd is going up to 125.00 a month- are they taking funny pills................so I have just called them and said in a very polite tone - I don't think so and miraculously they have now only increased it to 50.00. how scary is that, how many people will just accept the increase?? so if any of you have had ridiculous bills this morning get on the phone...........

going for a cuppa now to get over the shock after opening that letter .........

have a good day
x

Try Ebico, one rate for gas and elec regardless of the way you pay
with no service charge. They are a fair trade not for profit supplier and one of the cheapest.

Accounts can be managed online. (Accounts are managed by Southern Electric). You can pay quarterly DD and even enter the correct reading to create a correct bill, forget all this averaging if you find it time wasting.

I find the service reliable and accounting simple and I know I've only paid for what I have used.

If you're worried about higher winter payments, open a savings account and save monthly for fuel bills there, you'll then get some interest back.
