But is it not too much to ask that a newbie would spend a little time and read the previous posts and threads ?
People are quite prepared to help but a little time spent reading previous posts is very useful;)
Much useful information to be gleaned for a little backtracking0 -
Could I interrupt and ask a question
Pile of sealed cds/dvds/games
I thought it would be a simple task to try and ask at another store to swap this unwanted present for .....say latest Pirates dvd......but was told at Asda they only do an exchange when you have a receipt:eek:
I am sure I have read on here where posters have 'exchanged' brand new, sealed goods at Smiths, Sainsburys, Asda etc....but after the lack of success at Asda I had a quick check, and one practical problem seems to be that Asda, Smiths and Sainsburys all have those red security plastic tags over the dvd case, which they remove when you buy the item. Therefore there is a distinctive cut/gap whatever in the plastic packaging. Tesco don't have this, as they have those big plastic display cases.
Those of you who have been successful in swapping things elsewhere - which stores do stress-free exchanges ?
In some cases I am looking for specific items that my Tesco don't stock, so it is no good me doing a swap there, also when I have 10 copies of the minority report/I robot, they may get a bit suspicisous of my "unwamted present" line;)
p.s - unfortunately I haven't got 10 copies ( I wish) but you know what I mean :rolleyes:0 -

no i do agree that readin back tells alot of what u need to know but sometimes to find particular topic starters such as the xbox starter takes a long time an even i had trouble finding it
plus though it does take a lot of guts to do your first rnr an its nice to recieve a little reasurance an to double check what you have read you have is right in your head so you dont mess up
i can understand it to be frustrating to the old timers but its nerve rackin for us so just a bit more patience an a nice smily helps with a little less sarcasm sometimes as well
just think back to your first rnr an how much adrenalin was rushin round your bodyWhich came first the chicken or the egg....suppose it depends on which one is mispriced...i know not funny0 -

How many newbies don't even read the first page of the thread with all the answers to the questions they post?
What's R&R?
Do i really get stuff for free?
Where in Wolverhampton are the free Xbox's?
etc etc etc0 -
You could try Woolworths, Smiths, HMV,Virgin etc....I took back my Bratz toys to Woolworths (3 branches)got vouchers for £160 & then brought the PSP I now own with them so it cost nowt!
Worth a try with the above stores, dont know their individual policies on dvd's

Once again, guys, please keep this thread on topic as it's not designed as a chatroom. Nor is it a place to argue. Some off topic posts have been removed.
Off topic chat should be on the Moneysaver's Arms board. Thanks.0 -
I saw some beer 2 for 16 displays yesterday offer dated into December.
However the list of included beers did not include Holstien Export.
In this store the HE 2 for 16 had been removed.
I think its case of finding a store thats left 2 for 16 on the HE as thats not meant to be in the current offer.
