Just sold an item on ebay for £30, stated that i took paypal only.....anyway got an email from pay pal saying instant payment of £30 by echeque and i need to wait untill the funds have cleared.
Have sold over 300 items and have never come across the before.
Can anyone explain what it is ?

It is just a cheque! It is fine but just takes ages to clear! right pain in the wotsit!!! just explain to the buyer what they have done (Just in case they didn't know!!) ie .... as you sent me an echeque through paypal I have to wait for it to clear etc.....
Then wait for it to clear!
Hope this helps!

Yes make sure it clears before sending the goods. Quidco pay via echeque and it does take a wee while to clear.0

Had 2 of these recently, took 10 and 11 days to clear!!!!!:eek:0

I must be lucky, I had one clear in 5 days, and it was a payment from america.0

I received one which has just cleared today, after 10 days in total. There was another recent thread about e-cheques, and it seems that Paypal payments are occasionally processed as e-cheques for no apparent reason. That's happened to me as a buyer, too. The seller left positive feedback but menioned in it that the e-cheque had taken 10 days to clear.0

Hi, I think a direct bank payment is treated as an e-cheque by Paypal if the buyer does not have a credit card on file as a backup funding source. :dance:0
