wrong spelling on postal order

hi
i've been sent a postal order but my name is spelt wrong.
as an example pagch instead of patch. thats not my surname but my surname is an 'actual' word and with the wrong letter in the middle it isn't. iykwim!!:o they have actually put a 'g' instead of a 't'. Will i be able to cash it? or do i need to return it to the send to get a new one?
would it make a difference since my local post office know me by name and i could / should have more postal orders to take in at the same time in the correct name??
thanks

give it a go,they probably wont notice, if they do, then you can ask for the name to be changed. its worth trying first though. It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

They do ask for ID but hopefully they won't notice, I got given a crossed postal order with my name spelt wrong and cashed it with no issues as I don't think the cashier noticed. If I were you I'd just put the typo postal order in the middle of the other ones and hope for the best!0

Is it crossed? If so it will have to be paid in like a cheque. Chances are it will go through fine. I'm not sure whether 2-4-6 applies to POs.0

Only the most pedantic postmaster would refuse it.0

If its uncrossed and your cashing it at Post Office then it should be fine, I would accept it, they dont go anywhere, they stay in with the back office paperwork for 2 years so there shouldnt be any fuss.Slimming World Member - Started 05/02/150
