Post going missing + Refunds

Ive had a number of items over the last few months go missing which seems fairly unreasonable.

One item was from ebay - which in all fairness may never have been posted, managed to get a refund for that through Paypal

But Ive had several items from 'reputable' companies (high street shops etc) who have posted my items via royal mail but 3 of these since christmas have totally disappeared - of course Im now having difficulty in getting my money back because each of the companies say I have to wait for them to 'investigate' and Ive already been waiting weeks (as per thier t&c's) to raise it with them in the first place.

Ive also had some of my 'glitches' parcels etc not turn up - they've said dispatched etc online and Ive had dispatch emails - although ones Ive only paid for with vouchers I don't very well think I can claim for item not recieved....

Begining to feel very relucant to have anything of value delivered to my own home - dvd's etc seem to turn up but anything bigger has seemed to go walkies....
Really don't know what to do anymore....

I'm worried about this too as I ordered some train tickets from Southern which haven't arrived and it's been nearly two weeks! Cost me £46 for a journey which is in just under two weeks, worried I'm not going to be able to do anything as Southern are 'not obliged' to replace tickets sent by first class post :(

You might get a better response posting in customer rights but from what i've picked up as a MSE member, if you cancel the order with the companies (providing they are covered by the DSR's and not excluded), they should provide a full refund (inc delivery charge) within 30 days of you telling them you wish to cancel.

As for post going missing, report it to the post office. Custardy used to work as a postie i think so they might be able to give you more in depth answers but they should investigate and will possibly send a "test" package to your address to check its getting there.

Just explain that its not a one off and its happening too much for it to be a coincidence from various companies.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Thanks - I managed to find a 'report a fault' button on thier website so emailed them explaining the situation...sods law says any 'test' package will arrive - obviously not all my parcels have disappeared, but as I said it does seem an unusually high number that has started going walkies
