Have i missed something, or is this a great deal for an HTC Desire?

I realise the free months are by redemption, but as long as dialaphone play ball on this, I haven't missed anything obvious have I?

You missed only Quidco, but if you don't mind redemption deals you can do it even better.
With quidco this deal costs you £357.60-£50=£307.60.

You can get white Desire for £175ish through this deal: £20.42*18-£50-£143=£175 (£130 if you downgrade by £5 after 9 months)

Then you can get 300 minutes + 500MB for free with a basic phone:

£0.99*24-£46(quidco)=-£22.

The total cost £130-£22=£108 (£153 without downgrading)

P.S. Alternatively you can buy unlocked Desire for £280+£10 at phones4u.co.uk (minus some quidco) and use it on the above "free" contract that makes it £270ish, i.e. still a little better than your original deal.
