The ones in the 99p and £ shop will work fine, if you can find any. Personally I get mine of Amazon usually less than £3.

One professional HDMI sceptic is technology reviewer James Holland.
"Blu Ray players and the TVs they hook up to are completely digital, so you are talking about ones and zeros," said James.
"The cable itself isn't contributing to the quality of that picture at all. It is just moving it from one place to the other. It's the electronics at both ends that do the hard work."

    Indeed...

The high price cables only come into their own on long cable runs, say 5 metres.

I would not pay £1 for a HDMI cable unless it was a deal of the century. I aim for round about £5 for a standard 1m v1.4, At least I know it isn't going to fall apart the first time I unplug it.

I yet to find one as I said. :D So I can't comment on the quality. But the ones I have purchased from Amazon resellers and not their basic range have been fine.

All the 1m long HDMI cables that I have got from poundland for - yes £1 have worked perfectly fine.

They do not fall apart because they are a molded plug and are gold coloured plated too :D

Being digital, the signal does not care that much what the cable cost - I'm pretty sure that I could cut the ends off the cables with 6" left on the plugs, put chockblocks on and use telephone cable and I'd still get a good signal.

IMO the days of high priced cables should be over.

Funny how those high priced scart leads are either still at high prices unsold or in the bargain bins...
