hi,
I am looking at buying a laptop and have a choice between the following graphics cards -
Integrated Intel GMA HD
512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
I want the laptop for editing my own movies/dvds and for playing 3-d poker on the pkr website.
Thanks!

In that case, either will do. The Radeon will only come into its own on intensive 3D games such as Call of Duty series.0

Personally:
Go for the dedicated ATI graphics, better for handling video for editing. But will drain battery faster
Integrated drivers are only good for video playback. (Also 3d will be slower...) but more economical with battery life.
Some higher end laptops have the option for dual graphics. so you can use the integrated graphics for every day work and the dedicated ATI grpahics for things like games or video editing.Laters

For another £30 I can go for the 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 over the 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470.
Is it worth the extra???0 -
Just bear in mind that every 1Mb of RAM used by shared-graphics is 1Mb lost to running programs and video/photo editing needs all the memory you can spare.Never Knowingly Understood.
