I went with Payplan for my IVA, they were super-helpful in setting it up. However I very quickly came into problems with it and spent a fortune on long calls to the 0845 number being given different advice, only to learn they couldn't help me find a solution so turns out the IVA was the wrong way to go.
Now I'm preparing for bankruptcy.0 -
Hi Sboot3 --- might I suggest you pop over to https://www.iva.com and have a word with a couple of the IP companies there ( there are reviews to assist too). The advice is free and could maybe point out a better way forward.0

Hi Lizzy,
Thanks for your advice.
I got straight onto our case officer who told us you don't do pre paid envelopes but did supply a FREEPOST address - half way there and better than nothing so good.
Thanks;)You're not alone in debt0 -

Just thought i would let every one know i don't think i will be going with pay plan as i have to travel to grantham! which is ages away from me, for a face to face meeting as im self employed! might check out the two fav's grant thornton and melenie giles, thanks every one xxx0

OK possible change of plan! now in talks with MC Cambridge Duffy & Co, and Grant Thornton, Pay Plan are a no go for me, as i would have to travel for my face to face meeting, Melanie Giles would also require a face to face meeting and would be prepared to meet me closer to my home, but i can only assume this would mean a meeting in a public place somewhere, and i do not wish to do this.
so in the running so far is MC Cambridge Duffy & Co or Grant Thornton they are calling me back 2 Morrow with a rough detail of how much i would have to pay a month, i gather my next step is go with the one i feel the most comfortable with, and then look at the cost of each company per each month?
i'll let you guys know....0 -
The costs will work out roughly the same -- in any event of late creditors are amending IP's fees to about 15% of the money paid in. The initial set up is usually in the order of £1750 - £2000 (comes out of your payments... not up front). If you do decide to meet with Melanie, I imagine the chat will be in a car, not in a public place.0

I am currently with payplan, two years in. I recieve over time payments but its very sporadic and when PP asked for a large amount extra they had to review my circumstances and it turned out I was showing £150/mth negative????...they obviously have not asked for any more of my occassional overtime...my question is this....in a few months time I may be taking a pay cut in excess of £1800 per year...if i am already showing a negative would I be better off going for bankrupcy?...I am struggling as it is but with a large pay cut it will see me go well under....I am happy to walk away from my home and rent if needed....its a really stressful time at the moment me thinks!!!!!!!!!!!0
