MSE Job Opportunity: Junior Researcher Position Closed

  • Ooh would it still count if the person graduated in 1998 and is 35 years young...?
  • It says "suitable for a graduate", but does not state that a degree is absolutely essential, so if you're not a graduate but feel that your other qualifications and skills are particularly relevant, I'd say apply anyway. You don't lose anything if you get turned down.
Unfortunately Scotland is not within commuting distance of Shepherds' Bush, so I'll not be applying.

Neither will I, as Andalucia is nearly as far away from Shepherd's Bush as Scotland is.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Oh I am not a graduate either :( Why do graduates get offered all the jobs? I want one too :(
It shows that they have the necessary skills associated with graduating at uni. :)

I would love that job but I live too far away and I doubt that a Junior Researcher post would pay the sort of wage that could justify me moving to London.

Martin, can you give us an idea of the salary range of this post!?!?

I feel that maybe I am far too over qualified for this position....jeeze the amount of hours I spend in this place shows you how over qualified I am :p
  • Would do anything for that job as well keen on media and journalism (there seems to be nothing in South Wales for anything remotely 'Junior' or 'Entry Level') but alas, I am too far away to play!

Best wishes to the lucky so and so who gets it! Lets just hope your findings benefit us all! Maybe you can research media companies in Swansea for me so I can get a 'Junior' post in an up and coming company in this neck of the woods!

    Hi

Just a couple of clarifications 'junior' refers to the position in the office heirarchy not age. I would be happy with a 57 year old junior if they were suitable for the post.

As for graduate. It is suitable for a graduate, but someone with relevant experience and or dedication would be looked at too.

As for the salary - its suitable to experience. As whomever gets the job will be working here and this is a public forum I do not feel its appropriate to have a future member of the teams income discussed here without their say so.

If you are interested in the job - do apply with CV etc and salary requirements, if you're out of the price range we'll say no, but then nothings lost.

    Martin :)

So glad you said this because the job description doesn't scream "graduate" to me. It sounds like a job any computer minded person could do.

I think I'll apply and hope someone doesn't laugh at my CV.

No one will laugh at your CV I assure you - however the key is computer literacy and the ability to organise and arrange research :)
