I am in England which isn't covered but it is good to see that people are being supported to improve the country side.

Not really, I don't like to see taxpayers' money used to subsidise farmers this way, why should we pay our taxes for these people to get free trees and fences?

Well said sirbrainy, farmers need subsidies, what with the cost of filling up a Range Rover these days

I think it's a Welsh thing. In Wales you get subsidies for all sorts of things if you are in industry.

CTC, it seems it may be a CALU Glastir spin-off open to non farmers as well, involving FWAG Cymru, Coed Cymru, Comisiwn Coedwigaeth Cymru and Coed Cadw.

Heres the main link (I think!)

May I politely suggest that comments relating to Wales' share and use of UK/EU public expenditure form the basis of a discussion down the moneysavers arms, perhaps alongside other notable Welsh spend examples such as High Speed 2, Cross Rail and Defra's Entry Level and Higher Level Stewardship schemes.
  • I think this is a brilliant idea if only more areas decided to do this It could be great for the enviroment, I know lots of people and a local group who would really benefit from this but it's not offered in our local area (North West England)
If I was living in the area I would definatly try to take up this offer
    GREAT IDEA
