Thats your problem but for the four years I ran a Capri as my only car on a Classic Car policy, I accrued NCB. Maybe you should find a better broker.

Why? All of the classic car policies I have ever had have been level policies with no NCB accumulating or applying. They have also been extremely cheap.

If you switch to a classic policy, you may well lose your no claims in two or three years.
Most classic policies don't give you a ncd, and don't use your existing one.

I would ring round before you buy your Porsche because I don't think the internet will be detailed enough to give you a realistic quote.
My sons girlfriend added about £1000 to my classic policy (2,000 pa), so I decided not to add her.

My classic policies did not accrue any no claims discounts, But then again non was required
to take out the policy, Insured all sorts, Mini, Range Rover, MG etc...

Age maybe an issue but the terms & conditions maybe a big stumbling block. Will the car be garaged at night.
Generally the more restrictions you can allow the cheaper the policy.

Obviously for an everyday car its no good having a car you cannot use after 9pm on a weekday and must be in
an alarmed garage when you dont have one.

What got me about classic car policies is in one year, it was originally taken out on a 2 litre Ford Capri. Later that year I bought an ex-drag racing 2.8 V6 Capri. It was modified to holy hell and an engine so highly tuned you had to drive around town in 1st gear as there was no power below 3000RPM - quite why the hell I bought it is a mystery to me to this day. Anyhow, it only cost me £28 more with all mods declared.
  • My first car (in 1999) was a 1958 Ford Prefect - oh I adored that car:D. It took a bit of phoning around (waaay before I had internet, lol!) but the price I got was reasonable, and when I replaced the car with a modern one there was little change to the cost, I had also built up no claims. I can't remember who my insurer was but it wasn't a specialist classic insurer. What car are you thinking of? I love old cars!
