New passport is strange

I received my daughters UK passport a few weeks ago. The included a note regarding the change of place of the photo page, explaining it's to keep in line with the rest of the EC passports.
Our Australian passports have always had the photo at the front.0 -
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but...
Just received my brand spanking new 48 page passport today and, as others have stated, noted that the photo page is now paper thin. I do a lot of travelling and my experience is many immigration officers like to separate out the old thick laminated photo page and clatter it through their swipe machine. I think if anyone tried this with the new super thin page, it would rip it out. Does anyone have any experience as to how these pages are holding up to repeated use? Cheers!0 -
My son got his new passport last summer and it was this type of page. If you look carefully the picture is actually made up of your surname being written over and over again (if that makes sense!)
We've used it to travel to Singapore, Australia and the Caribbean twice and it's been accepted no problems0 -
is this for the iris recognition? I think its so that the system can 'read' the passport better
I look like a ghost in mine its that pale/washed out!0 -
