Burning from library to dvd

As I have virgin TV and it has the feature of copying to video/dvd from the library, is there any way of copying films from the library to a dvd without going to the expense of a £100+ dvd recorder? Thanks in anticipation.

For that particular purpose you don't need a hard drive on the DVD recorder, so you can pick up one of the cheaper models, no need to go to £100+.
There are ways and means of hooking up to your PC and using it as a DVD recorder, but they're not pretty.
Most of the ports on the V+ box aren't hooked up; you can't just copy the files over to your PC, if that's what you were thinking.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.

Thanks for that, when I google dvd recorders they all come around the £100+ mark, which are the cheaper ones you are referring to? They sound ideal as I only want to store some of the good films for future use on dvd as the 80 hour hard drive on the V+ box soon gets full with series links etc.
Also are these straightforward to copy to ie. scart lead and press a few buttons?0 -
My current LG came from Comet about 2 years ago and was £70. Before that I had a Hitachi which also clocked in well below £100, even though it was quite exotic technology at the time.
They don't seem to have any in that price bracket at the moment. I had (naively) assumed prices would have come down or at least remained reasonably steady in the intervening period. I hadn't looked before I posted, sorry.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.

I'm feeling bad for having got your hopes up now, so I've had a bit of a hunt around.
This is the PC solution if you want the cheapest option (assuming you already have the necessary computer!) and don't mind the wires;

Not a good review, but this one would do the job you want;

One bit of advice; don't be tempted to go second hand. DVD recorders are very short-lived bits of kit.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.

Well thanks for trying, that second item doesn't sound too good does it, anyway I'll think about the other item and maybe see if there's anything else out there.0
