Hello there, I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a cap or a limit to how much voluntary work a person could take on whilst being in recipt of housing benefit/council tax benefit.
Thank you very much in advance.

There is not, however it can affect entitlement to other means tested benefits (IS, ESA, JSA etc).Gone ... or have I?0

My JCP actively encourage me to do some volunteer work (have registered with a voluntary group) but they never stated how many hours per week I could do OR that it may affect my JSA.0

As always with volunteer work just keep your local JCP fully informed of where, when and what you're doing, and if that involves any renumeration eg travel fares.0
