Hi to all, Can anyone tell me if I can put floor varnish onto floorboards with a cloth? If not, what is the easiest way for me to apply it. :A

you can use a cloth or brush for stain, but not varnish.
use a decent brush.Get some gorm.0 -
you can put it on how you like ..
with a cloth it will put down thinner coats and you will be able to spread it out more ..and get a better finish ..as in french polishing ..and will take you a bit longer ..
there is a special broom type thing for applying floor finishes .don't know what its called .
there are all sorts of different varnishes ..some hard wearing ..some not .some fast drying ..some not ..some water based .some oil based .even epoxy ones.
then there are the oils and stains and waxes
you'll have to do a lot of research .
I cant recommend anything ..as Ive not done a floor before ..only many many other varnishing jobs that don't involve flooring.
all i can say ..is that if you use a pigmented varnish.......then the finish will look awful in a few years time, requiring full sanding of the floors and start again ..rather just touching up or re-coating for clear finishes .
all the best.markj0 -
