Evidence of no claims discount to be proven to new car insurer

Options
I have just got a really good car insurance deal with Prudential which I have paid for the year being the cheaper option rather than direct debit. By the way it was the cheapest deal I could find and would recommend people try them for a quote. Considering my cover was for a newer car with the same sized engine I was amazed at getting it cheaper than my old car.

Just received a letter from the Pru asking for evidence of no claims discount as issued by previous insurer. Not sure what I need to send them.
Could anyone please help:confused:

  • just contact your previous insurer and ask them for proof of your no claims discount (should be free and issued immediately). I have just swapped to the pru using quidco.
i would also just let the pru know that u have requested the no claims proof - a week after i rec'd the reminder i rec'd a further letter saying that because i didn't send them the proof they would cancel the discount. i rang them to explain and it was fine, just make sure u keep them up to date.
Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.

wins - peroni bottle opener, peroni bowl, peroni coastersx2 and a vodkat cocktail kit,
would love to win something 'proper'!!

normally it would be the invitation to renew from your previous insurer but if you have switched mid year or have lost it then they will send you a letter to confirm

Thanks! Just found this thread on google. Thankfully I kept my AA Insurance Renewal leaflet which did indeed say that it was evidence of my No Claims Discount. Now to send it off to Tesco!
