Car Insurance websites cannot find my Golf

Hi, I am hoping to find a Moneysaver who has solved this problem with their Mk 5 1.4 S FSI (90PS) Golf (2005). I have used Martin's suggestions about finding cheaper insurance since I bought my new Golf and then suddenly about 3 years ago the 'Find my car' tools on insurers and comparison websites couldn't find my car anymore. In fact the exact model had disappeared. This has caused me hours of grief each year ever since. The correct model is found on sites that link to DVLA lists such as mycarcheck.com but most insurers seem to be using a different list. I finally managed to insure with Saga after an agent there called VW to confirm the model and their underwriters to check and yet I still was not convinced that they had the correct information. However the Saga agent assured me that all relevant discussions and info were now recorded on my file and that the car is insured. But, what I want to know, is where has my car gone and how do other Golf owners manage when it comes round to renewal of insurance? I hope someone can help. Thanks loads in advance. By the way, I managed to get the premium down to £164 from the £300+ quoted by Zurich!
