    I'm not suggesting that these companies ought to be able to say whatever they like and get away with it, but surely it's daft to be approaching the seller of a service to ask whether that service is the right one for you? Even my granny would say that's just common sense.

    In that sense this *shouldn't* matter, because people *should* be seeking impartial advice before they ever speak to one of these firms. Obviously "should" is not the same thing as "does", of course.
