VISA exchange rate vs bank rate??

Hi guys,
I have no idea whether this question can be answered but I figure that this place is as good as anywhere to try!
I am looking to make a purchase in Euroland but I am all in sterling. What is the best way of doing it to get the best exchange? We are talking about £25k odds. I can buy a draft from the bank or I guess I can do it over the debit card (maybe can even sweet talk the credit card company into letting me do it via that).
What do you guys think is the best approach to get the best exchange rate?
Thanks

Well I think I have answered my own question... my debit card charges 2.75% for foreign currency, one of my cc the same and the post office card nothing (but they are highly unlikely to extend my credit limit that far!).
So I am probably down to buying a draft from the bank.Always overestimating...0 -

The free way to go is open a Citibank euro account (free and includes free to use in eurozone euro debit card), transfer your sterling from your main bank to your Citibank euro account so you get interbank exchange rate (i.e. 0% load) and then pay the recipient either with your euro debit card or with a free SEPA transfer.
Easy and 100% free. And much cheaper than any currency broker.0
