I wonder if there's an issue with me having the last offer which ended at Christmas? i cancelled the DD from that subscription. Maybe I need to re-instate it? I wouldn't have thought so as it would have a different subscription number. My subscription account is showing as 'suspended'.
Had a reply from BBC Subs and they said:
'We regret to advise you that when your bank account details were transmitted to your bank they were returned and the debit was not made.
Therefore the account is no longer active at this stage. This is no reflection on the status of your bank account.'
They've asked me to phone them to set it up.
I'm usually quite careful when setting up DDs - I wonder if my bank refused it as it will have similar details to the one I cancelled?¿Alguien ha visto a mi nave espacial?
Biting is excellent. It's like kissing, only there's a winner.0 -
Just a reminder that if you took out this offer when the OP mentioned it, it is time to cancel the subscription if you don't wish to carry it on at £28.60. I am unfortunately 1 day too late but radio times will refund it in 28 days time.I'm sure I went upstairs for some reason.0

This has been great - thanks to OP and all other posters here, we're halfway through our run of 8 (nothing would persuade the offer of 12 code to work for me), and thoroughly enjoying it! Can't believe some people pay £1.20 a week for the RT though
I cancelled my dd and emailed them - have had an email in reply to confirm cancellation. Do many of you repeat this process from time to time to get another run of RTs?2011 wins: 2 day gym membership, film download, NETBOOK!Debt at LBM: [STRIKE][/STRIKE] [STRIKE]26/1/11 = £4733.26[/STRIKE] 11/6/11 = £3759.3840 -
Ah I only cancelled the DD, must I email them too?0

Does anyone remember how much the price will go up to when the 12 free ones are up? We buy it all the time anyway so might not cancel...You bowl like your mother. Unless of course she bowls well, in which case you bowl nothing like her

From the post higher up by Mr. Forgetful, I'd say it's £28.60. If you buy it every week anyhow, you're probably better off to just continue the subscription
BTW, has everyone gotten their magazine yet this week? It usually comes by Tuesday, now it's Wednesday and it wasn't with the post. Don't know if mine's missing or just delayed.0 -

If you pay £176 for 153 issues you save 5p a week on the cover price (although it'll probably go up in that time but who wants to pay for three years up front?).
If you pay £124 for 102 issues you are paying £1.215 per issue -that's 1.5p MORE per issue than buying in the shops, again not accounting for any price hikes (and also the fact that one issue is more expensive as it's a double).
If you pay £65.50 for 51 issues you are paying £1.285 per issue - 8.5p more per issue than in the shops.
I was a subscriber for a while as I got the 8 for £1 deal a couple of years ago and then paid £19.99 every six months, which was a good saving. Now they've put the price up to cover the subscription AND delivery costs, which is what the percentage saving amounts to. I was sent a letter to tell me my direct debit was going up to £31.20 per half a year, which is exactly what it'll cost me to buy in the shops (£1.20 an issue), yet they claimed I was getting a discount on the overall package including postage. Given that whenever a bank holiday came I had to wait an extra day for my issue and over Christmas I was receiving them half way through the week the programmes in the issue were actually on, despite the copies being in the shops in good time, I cancelled my direct debit and will stick to buying in shops from now on. By all means take advantage of the 8 for £1 but be wary of the other 'offers' they're making, they seem to be the worst magazine subscription offers around.0 -

I didn't pay attention with my trial subscription as I plan to cancel, but that sounds like it's for 6 months.0
