We took this offer up before xmas thinking it was a good offer but i have spent more in telephone calls telling them that different issues haven't turned up! After xmas they blamed the post office...last weeks still hasn't turned up yet. I now email them on :

'radio.times@servicehelpline.co.uk'

to complain each time it doesn't turn up.

When you contact them they do add an extra issue on the end on your trial subscription...we now have our trial subscription that goes up to the middle of March....this is rubbish as you can see the original 8 week trial should have finished at the beginning of February.

So if you buy it anyway, it will only be a bargin if it turns up! Hope you are all luckier than we have been! I don't think the offer is worth all the hassell we have had.

Sorry to put a 'downer' on it

Putting the 12 issues code in straight off didn't work for me. I then put the 8 issue code in, which worked. When the 8 issue screen came up, I tried the 12 issue code and THEN it worked!!

Go figure!
Thanks for this - this is also the only way that I could get it to work.

To be fair I wouldn't be surprised if it has been the Royal Mail they haven't been right since Christmas...(if they ever were in the first place :rotfl:)

This week alone one second class letter took a week to get there, recorded took 2 days and 1st is on average 2/3 days delivery times....Oh and we found out some of the stuff in the backlog of Christmas hasn't made it through to us and is probably more than likely lost....

Surely 1st class recorded should take one day, though there again maybe i'm old fashioned...:rotfl:

still doesn't excuse a week for 2nd class, lost mail, 1st class taking 2/3 days and oh did i mention damaged items twice in one week?!

I believe your a postperson Custardy and your ship may run well but around these parts and some other areas mail just isn't what it used to be....

your not old fashioned. just dont have a clue about RM services
recorded travels along with all the other mail
its makes no difference
Special Delivery travels via segregated methods

1st class taking 2-3 days, why isnt that acceptable?
the service aims for next day delivery, but is even shown on the RM site as 1-2 days
I find it hilarious that folks seem to think the service shouldnt change when RM have cut tens of thousands of staff over the last few years.
last figures i saw were 60,000 staff from deliveries over the last 4 years

I won't go into it again with you Custardy, your service is great in your eyes, you have one opinion, i and others have a different one...Honesty is perhaps the best way for Royal Mail, we can't promise to deliver your items in a week....As some lives depend upon certain mail arriving then maybe a lot of companies should ditch Royal Mail altogether....

Haha, that's what I was thinking! 1st class usually takes a week or more for me. Second class takes more than a week - usually 2/3 weeks. Recorded is the same. That's why they have Next Day Delivery - if first class mail reached you in 1 day, what would be the point of the next day service for which you have to pay alot extra! :p

Because first class recorded USED to be a next day service (as did all first class) that you would use when you DIDN'T want the item insured but wanted a trackable signature.

If you wanted some insurance, THEN you would use special delivery :)
