Redundancy - Should everything be in writing ?

Options
Hi,

If you have been issued with a redundancy notice and then work ring and suggest things might have changed and they might have a scheme that "buys back" your time should this be put in writing so that you can make an informed judgement of what is being offered ? They wanted a decision now and my wife said "no she was not interested" even though the exact meaning of "buy back" was not clear, should they put this in writing ?

Thanks in advance

Yes, I'd say everything should be put in writing, verbal arrangements are nether here not there.

After all, if you take on a job, you would expect to get a letter offering you the job in the first instance. Then at least a Terms and Conditions of Employment.
  • Thanks very much, I thought that would be the case, I will ask my wife to get this in writing
