Getting credit card statements

Hi I'm new!!!
I've sent off to barclaycard for the last 6 years statements, I included a postal order for the £10.00.
Had a reply saying they can only supply statements back to May 2004!
If I want the other one's back to Novenber 2000 I will have to pay £3.00 for each statement..... They say this is because the older statements are stored on microfiche, this will cost me 120 odd pounds!!!!
Is this right or are they trying it on?
Any thoughts
Thanks

check and ask on consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forumHelp me to help you :santa2:0

Did you send the Data Protection Act, Subject Access Request letter with your letter? Using this they are only allowed to charge £10. Its just one of the idiotic things they do to try to put you off. Do go to https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk, you need to register. Forums, then scroll down past the Bank forums to other institutions, were you will find people in the same boat as you. That is just first of several attempts at discouraging you - slowly, slowly, catchy monkey is the way.0

what's the diff between SAR and DPA?Help me to help you :santa2:0

They keep stuff for years!!!! When you are sending the SAR letter you are telling them that you want all the information you have stored about you for the last 6 years.0

S.A.R. Subject Access Request not sure on the other, After you send the banks the SAR, they have then 40 days to comply, if they don't it is then when you send the D.PA. letter (sorry can't remember what the initials stand for.) The majority of people don't have to bother with DPA.
Honestly, it is the best place for your requests, all the letters you need are on there.
The site is endorsed by Martin Lewis.
There are separate forums for all the different banks, so you do not get bogged down with stuff you don't need.
How Edingbughlass is coping with the main thread on here I don't know. Even trying to read through was making my head spin.0 -

With difficulty furndire, with difficulty
(love your spelling btw!)
I too am ducking and diving between here and CAG and am having to stop myself trying to answer each question
But, its all coming together nicely and a big welcome to any readers of the Sun and viewers of Martin's recent interview on the BBC

Sorry about spelling your name wrong.
I was trying to get the rest down, as I often know what I want to say, but can't put it down properly. 0
