You accrue holiday while you are off on Maternity leave so yes you are entitled to take them before your maternity leave starts if your leave will run over past the end of the holiday year.:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0

Hi, I started my mat leave last July but had 4 weeks holiday to take so actually finished in June. The holiday is what I would have accrued up till Dec that year so my answer would be yes but check with your HR dept first.

If you are going to take maternity leave that would run over the end of the holiday year (i.e. Dec) then yes, you should do. If you were going to only take, say 3 months, then you would be back at work before the end of the holiday year, so you wouldn't have to. Check with your HR department for the best answer though. Our holiday year runs August - September, and I go on maternity in June. I have to take all my oustanding holiday before I go on leave, so I am finishing at the end of May on annual leave, and going on maternity leave at 38 weeks.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015
