Smart Roadstar car hire.

Hi i am going to book my car hire for italy today. i am booking the smart roadster which is super cheap (from link on this chat board) just wondered.. has anyone hired one before? there will be 2 of us with a suitcase each and some hand luggage!! will we be able to get them in the boot?

I'd doubt if you'd get anything more than hand luggage in them, total capacity for luggage in the 2 luggage compartments is - front: 59 l, rear: 86 l.

I certainly wouldn't take any hardcased suitcases with you

Hand luggage BTW works out as about 35 l

would we not get one piece in the boot then? do you think it would be possible to have them in the car? just its only going to be the drive to and from the airport that we will have them.. which is about 50miles drive.. (1hour!)

hope so as the car looks excellent for the streets of Italy but if we struggle to get the luggage in might have to give it a miss and get a boring punto

just been looking.. its the roadster coupe that they hire.. says this is bigger but i dont know how 186 litres compares to a suitcase!!?!

we will have two standard suitcases with us.. if one went in the boot and the other on my other halfs knee that wouldn't be a problem! i could probably do with seeing one and looking at the boot!
