i was told that they had sent my claim to there payment office as i am doing a mandatory 4 week course on A4e and somehow something has happened to it and they have to start putting it in manually
  • They should still be able to tell you when you will get your money; it might mean arranging for someone on the payments team to call you back because if it IS clerical they won't be able to see details on the computer-but they should give you a timescale for the callback. Don't be fobbed off with 'not sure' or 'dont know'; insist they say when you will be paid as you need to know and if you cannot manage, ask for them to make an urgent payment. If they cannot do this then call for a crisis loan to tide you over
  • lots of claim go clerical for one reason or another this should not however delay your benefit,as the jobcentre sends a hand off stencil to the payments office to confirm you have signed on they then should arrange to pay you by clerical giro and issue the same day so there should not be a disruption to your payment, phone them tell them that your benefit is overdue and you require your payment by counter giro! think you would be wasting your time with crisis loans as benefit is due so they wont normally pay
