I have a 1.9 Diesel Roomster. It's got more passenger leg and headroom that either the Yeti or Quashqai. Go give it a try. Have the dealers push the front seats in all three vehicles as far back as they'll go and sit in them. You'll be amazed because the Roomster looks to be the smallest vehicle of the three. Additionally it's got more load space than the Yeti either with the back seats up or down and when the back seats are removed completely it's like having a van's load space.

I have had the car almost a year - it returns 50 plus to the gallon, it doesn't have the problem of having a DPF, it's a £110 road tax and cheap to insure. They are not pretty cars, my mates refer to mine as the Popemobile, but they sort of grow on you. I've had lots of diesel cars, latterly a 2008 1.6 Focus, but the Roomster beats them all. Unlike the immediate competition in the small mpv market - the Kangoo and the Berlingo the Roomster's a car, and drives like one, that as the load capacity of a van whilst the others are vans, they drive like vans, but try to be cars.

By the way the 1.4 diesel is fine around town but does seem a bit underpowered on the motorway.
  • Yeti..........Skoda have a better reliability and customer satisfaction than Volkswagon. I do think they are a bit over priced but TBH I think that of most brands/cars..lol

Seeing Clarkson say "Its a fantastic car" will make a difference with sales even if the guys a complete Knob, or c*ck as James May would say.

Damn - I'm getting rid of my 2.0 Laguna because it won't go past 33MPG - if a Quashqai won't go beyond that then that's ridiculous considering I have 140 horses connected to my right leg
