Car Insurance 50% more than last year?? WTH??

Can someone advise.
My car insurance is up for renewal.
last year it was 480, now i've been given an automatic renewal quote for 580.
But doing a search on Moneysupermarket, gocompare etc,
the average is 750.
that is unnacceptable.
What choices are left to go to?
