Car Insurance with bad creit rating

Is it possible to be refused car insurance if you have a bad credit rating? Has any one else had any previous experiences? The reason I ask is that I attempted to get a quote on confused.com but it said it couldn’t find any results for me and the information I entered was correct....so was it as everyone as refused to quote me or am i reading way too much into it?
I previously had a company car for the last 3 years but as I am changing jobs I will be using my own car and will therefore need car insurance.

Hi, any insurers using credit rating tend to load or discount premiums rather than not quote. Suspect it's more to do with some element of the information you've provided0
