Crikey - car insurance up 50%

Wow, what a difference a year makes!

I received my renewal notice today and it's increased from £200 to £300 in just one year! That's 50% more:eek:

I've shopped around and the best I can get with my preferred cover and excess etc is £290 with an additional £50 cashback via Quido.

Yep - OH's went up from £213 to £387!!!  He's stuck though as he has a restricted licence and a lot of places wont touch him. Also we're awaiting settlement on a personal injury claim after a no-fault accident so technically he has an outstanding claim which doesnt help either

    Cheers esure...

Just had DD's renewal (18) and it has gone down from last year - we are offshore and pay just under £600 fully comp for her. No fronting either - policy in her own name.

Our policies for high group cars also went down at renewal staying with same insurer and I had one claim (protected NCB). As Dunston says, it is the high risk areas where premiums are going up.
