Fiat 500 - owners?
Really thinking of getting one of these #(subject to test drive etc of course) if the wife gets a new job.
Got my eyes on the 1.2 twinair but looking for second opinions from owners. Gets good topgear reviews etc
Currently doing c. 20 miles a day to the train station and back with maybe 1 motorway journey of a couple hundred miles every other month.
Currently drive a !!!!!! 1.6 hyundai elantra that got pranged by some uninsured driver, so no trade in value at all, so full RRP payable, only down side!!

IIRC it's based on the Fiat Panda which gets rave reviews so I'd think they're pretty good...0

good reviews on topgear but they said in the show 2 weeks ago that they would buy a polo bluemotion if you want one that gets better mpg. one watchout, there have been some stories in autoexpress recently about the second service for these, turns out its name also equals the cost of the second service wow0

There was a good review of the twinair in the sunday time's basically said it was a great car with a great engine, but dont buy if MPG was your only factor as the car begged to be thrashed within an inch of its life.0

I still think if driven sensibly you will get much nearer the claimed mpg than TopGear would have you think.
We all know how we drive a courtesy or hire car.
The TopGear bods probably thrashed it away from every set of lights with no mechanical sympathy whatsoever, unlike a cars owner.
The main advantage in London is the Congestion Charge exemption.
There will be better engines in the range, but free road tax, free CC, that will add up to over £2500 for somebody in London, I believe it may have stop/start aswell, though may have imagined that. thus it makes a good Urban tool.
I would have one in Matt Black, i have a feeling I may get chatted up in Old Compton St if I bought one in baby blue or similar, though it may start a whole new direction in my life, don't knock it till you try it and all that.:heartpuls0 -
It shares the same platform as the new Ford Ka.
My ex has one, she absolutely loves it. The only downside is the 35 litre petrol tank capacity which is a pain on a long journey. However, they may have fixed that on the latest models, I know the US versions have a bigger tank.0 -
If it gets the fuel economy they claim it will then the small fuel tank isn't a problem is it?
The Kia Picanto I'm getting will do about the same number of miles to it's 35L tank as my Laguna which has a 68 (!) litre tank.0
