Help!! how to remove shaower "arm"

Please help.....

I've moved into a new house and the shower head is held in place to have a shower by a small chrome arm fixed on the tiles.
You can't change the angle of it at all and I have to contort myself to get under the spray to have a shower and wash my hair!

I've bought a "universal" shower riser to replace it so the shwer can be held at different heights and you can adjust the angle.

But - I'm not sure how to get the current shower holder (chrome arm) off.
There are no obvious screws or fixings and i tried twisting it and it did squeakily turn 90 degrees but i got worried and didn't turn ut further as i was worried i might do something bad to the hiden pipework.

Can anyone advise?

You shouldn't do any harm to pipework if the there's a flexible hose going to it. If that is the case and the shower head holder is just a holder, then there might be a screw or allen screw on the under side of it. Failing that, you could try prising it off with a paint scraper or knife (its' coming off any way so it doesn't matter if you break it). Then there should be a screw holding the base piece on.
Try levering it upwards as it will be clipper on and downwards. Only other thing I can think of is that the base is screwed to the wall and then the chrome trim slides downwards onto it.

normally theres a chrome cup/cover over the joint. held by an allen screw, or a simple screw fit.
use a cloth to stop marking the chrome, and some plumbers pliers.
    Get some gorm.
