We could manage without a car possibly however if DS2 gets his chosen school this would be difficult without a car. I cannot persuade OH to get rid a car all together so downgrading is a compromise.0

I feel like such a failure!! All this is really getting me down. DS1 went to live with his dad in August and I have been a mess since.0

You are only £300 short so if you OH can get even a 10 hour a week job this will help. Does s/he have any skills they can use to go self-employed/working from home? Get a piece of paper and brainstorm all ideas, no matter how rediculous they might sound at first, hopefully you can come up with something. Good luck x0
