Sofa Cloth Suppliers??? (Throw Material)

Just wondered if anyone knows of a place where we can buy some cloth to make sofa throws from.

there is nothing wrong with our sofa apart from the colour now, but all the throws that are out there are not big enough to totally cover the sofa and chair. we did buy some from our local dunnes store but the material was not really a thick enough cloth suitable for making a throw out of. we are after a brown thick washable material probably about 10 mtrs.

if anyone knows of such a place.?.

Oof, ten metres! If you're buying that much of an upholstery grade fabric, you're going to spend a fortune - and if all you get for that is a large bit of fabric that rucks up and falls off and looks messy the minute anyone sits on the sofa, I really honestly don't think it's worth spending that much money on just a throw. I would definitely recommend looking into loose covers - if your budget doesn't stretch to having them made, then making something yourself. The cost would probably be much the same, but the result much more practical.

If you're looking for bargain fabrics, the best deals are usually had in independent stores and where anything local to you is obviously depends on where you are. But John Lewis do furnishing fabrics, and Fabric Warehouse is another big chain. You could also look into second hand curtains on somewhere like ebay - they're sometimes made out of very sturdy fabrics and you might get 10 metres of fabric out of a large room set with a couple of pairs.
