Not sure if I've posted this already...
There is a free firewall which is getting rave reviews and is getting lots of postive posts at Wilders Security Forums where people are comparing it favourably with Agnitum's Outpost (one of the market leaders but quite technical).
Unlike other free firewalls it is not a cut down version. The company is genuinely offering as a freebie. It appears to have some quite advanced features too.
I have no affiliation with the site and haven't tried it (I don't have a spare installation to use it on at the moment), however it's definitely worth a look.

Been a user of this firewall for awhile - you have to register an e-mail address and they send you a free license.
They also do Anti virus software but that does not appear to be as developed as the likes of AVG, Avast etc...0
