My basket froze me out just when I had it how I wanted it, so I gave up early afternoon, although I could have done with stocking up on the essentials I think I would be buying just for the sake of it for other things and goodness knows there is no space left in the bedroom, airing cupboard, hallway cupboard... for all the presents I have hoarded for the year and the huge haul I have of soap and glory

that's soooooo funny and totally me too!

My hubby gets really annoyed if he finds I have spent money again from a deal on here, I often leave bags in the car until I find a good hiding place for them all, I know, I'm terrible but I can't help myself, I have even resorted to getting orders delivered to store :rotfl:
Think I'm going to have to find a no shopping threadComping wishlist for 2017

To be honest, whilst I have had lots of bargains on here and I'm grateful to posters, it worries me to see people buying so much stuff just because it is cheap. This is the first time that I have bought anything since Christmas apart from the stuff which has cost me pennies i.e. PriceMinister, Jaeger, Martine Wester. I satisfy my shopping needs by sending off for all the freebies!
Oh I forgot that I did buy stuff in the Boots sale!! But I only spent just over £20.0 -

I got that screen for ages too, but after reading FloFlo's post (no 684 on here) I went to My Account, first time shopper, created account and then it went through ok. Maybe just a coincidence, but I would have needed to register with them anyway. Hope you have success!0 -
i don't think it's a coincidence... i had used lloyds before but the site did not recognise my email so i created a new account yesterday and suddenly the website worked like a dream and i checked out no problem at all... had not dawned on me until now that this would be why.
went into our local lloyds today, they had quite a lot, bagged some nice pressies for people, the lady at the counter was very excited about it and said they're all due to get loads more new stock under the same offer on monday, but she didn't know quite what yet.0 -

I don't think people are buying just because its cheap, I haven't bought loads since Christmas myself, I have bought bargains as I see them for birthdays and mothers day etc, I probably spent around £100 during the boots sale but that was all paid by boots points and a some from a gift card for the kids birthdays and Christmas and saved a fortune. I think many people are buying to save for the same reasons but to also treat themselves cheaply, we all deserve a little treat every now and then. The soap and glory hubby bought me a tote for Christmas, I ended up with a bit from the asos code, I actually ended up with an extra tote for free too so no money spent.
I can safely say I am completely money neutral this year.
I wanted to buy a few bits and a couple of perfumes to set aside for me for mothers day and one for hubby for his birthday but I haven't been all that bothered spending the time trying to place an order. I say if you can place an order on lloyds good on you and you deserve the goods you receive if not just for the patience :TComping wishlist for 2017

I've figured it out thanks to those who replied!!! I kept getting the blue and white error quick flash screen whenever I went to my basket. So I went back into Lloyds withour signing in and clicked on a random item (carex handwash £1.00) my basket price altered from what it did say £22 up to £23. I then clicked on my basket and the handwash was there (but nothing else).I signed in then I went to checkout and it only listed the handwash and delivery charge - not the original £22 - although my basket at the top still said £23 IYKWIM !! Sorry if that was a bit long-winded but it helped me - seemed to over-ride what I'd put in the basket previously. Hope this helps someone xDon't walk behind me; I may not lead. I've ordered quite a few items for raffle/tombola prizes for the kids' school summer fair, plus teacher presents (maybe they'll think I won them at the school summer fair?)... and also some bits n bobs for my daughter's party bags in a few weeks time. Perhaps I've not saved money just got more for my money than I would normally get - its easy to be generous when it's a bargain!0

i know what you mean about it being easy to get carried away
but the shelf life of toiletries and fragrances if stored properly (like the boot of my car LOL!) is long so you can stock up with sales like this and more would last me at least 1-2 years.
In addition I also:
1. Offer to my sister anything she wants she can have at what it cost me (she is quite hard up and not as savvy as I am with sales, so funny she mentioned to me this evening oh i heard somewhere you can buy the sale stuff from lloyds on their website-EYES MEGA ROLLING:rotfl:)
2. I have loads of poor rels abroad and although someone mentioned earlier about donating to present box charities for me charity begins at home, my rels don't even earn in one year what I can in a day. My mum goes over every year and I keep her stocked up with appropriate goodies
3 I have loads of in laws and visitors coming and going and tradtionally we exchange gifts then rather than bdays etc
4. I don't know why but it gives me great satisfaction to buy at greatly reduced prices from some of these rip off companies like tesco etc whose prices are so overinflated anyway
5.Some items HARDLY EVER go down in price to real bargainous prices like the fragrances -never reduced in boots sales (except minis) so when they are on offer can't blame people for wanting to grab them
I do agree I probably need therapy as well !! LOL!
PS freebies what freebies????????
maybe i need to check other the other forums.................GRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED
