MSE Scheduled scan

Hi Microsoft Security Essentials isn't running it's scheduled scan. I set it for 1.00pm on a Sunday as I am out most of the day. It's MSE 2.0. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem?

  • Mine is set for 11:00 on Sundays. I was up about 5:00 on Sunday doing some serious accounts work so I started a full scan then. It completed it with no probs and I noticed about 11:30 that it was doing its scheduled scan. The only difference I've noticed recently is that full scans seem to take a hell of a lot longer since it updated itself a couple of weeks ago. Version 2.0. 657.0

frequent scheduled scans aren't really necessary, unless you suspect the resident scanner has missed something

  • The first time I ran a scan with 2.0 it took forever. I thought it had froze. Was going out so just left and it had finished when I came back.

I think I'll just run a on demand scan. Nothing was picked up today so all's good.
