I got taken out for a free lunch yesterday - lucky me!
I also came home and stuck to the meal plan that I put together - negating the need to head to the shops as usual on a Monday!
I reckon we've got enough food to last us until Thursday night.
Hubby is ill so had to buy him some medicine this morning... £4.45... that comes off of the food shopping bill... poor little thing he's really poorly!
Got a couple of bits and bobs that I needed from my weekly personal allowance and I now have £33.69 to last until the end of Friday.
I'll be working from home today as we are going to view a new nursery for doodles (our son) which, as I said above will be a massive saving if we decide to go for it.
We are also off to see a school which takes pre-schoolers at age 4. They are doing their intake in July for when doodles would be ready to join so we need to go through the interview process. Apparently they are very selective over the 'type' of children they pick for the school... ooo errrr get them!
I f he gets in there, it'll be free so keeping our fingers crossed. Heard AMAZING reviews about the school so fingers crossed.
aaaaanyway, becuase I'm working from home I can live on toast and I think we have a couple of eggs that need eating too. That means that hopefully that's another day without spending!
I think that's it for now... love and happiness to all

update today: didn't manage to go the the new nursery and school as hubby was too poorly and didn't want to give it to the kids... poor thing. we'll have to go next week.
Managed a no spend day yesterday so that's good.
Listed a few bits and bobs on eBay until we were cut off at around 3pm... (our router broke).
Waiting for Virgin to come and service our set-up - probably tomorrow.
Brought lunch to work today so another no spend day hopefully.
Hope you're all well.

Hi everyone!

Well, it's the beginning of week two and like a good girll I managed to stay in budget last week and have been to the cashpoint this morning for my new week's budget.
Nothing to report on savings as yet as it isn't payday anytime soon...
On an up note, I did make my first sale on eBay - £23.00 for some old bank notes I found in my junk in my parent's loft - yay!
keep well, stay safe and keep smiling!

just been thinking about how to handle the money we don't spend from our budgets...
I think I am going to get some glass jars and label them 'pickle's money' and 'shopping' and 'weekend spends'.
Then I'll put the weekly amounts in the jars each Monday and spend out of the jars...that way at the end of each month we might have leftovers to go into the savings!
Has anyone else tried this?

I did it!
I managed to get our food shopping bill for the week down to £58.00!!!
Although we didn't need cleaning stuff, nappies or wipes.. but still.... YAY!
Also, of that £58 there was a salt shaker which we needed to replace (£4.50) and some Olive Oil in bulk that we maybe didn't need just yet! (£4.00) so actually a very small shopping budget compared to our usual spend!
We are using the Sainsbury's weekly meal planner which is 5 meals for £20... lovely recipies!
(details can be found on their website)
Hope you are all well
