    Its not that you cannot rent any property but if you go through an agency that does a credit check it is more likely they will decline your tenancy. Could your partner consider getting the tenancy in just their name? The other alternative is that with a bad credit rating sometimes agencies ask for 6months rent up front.

    Once you pay off the CCJ and its marked as satisfied then it would increase your chances of being accepted by an agency.

    Unfortunately all properties around are advertised by agencies.
    My OH does only P/T, she has to pick kids from school.
    Will look at paying the fee.

    Hi, back to this one again.
    After a little bit of investigation I managed to get the file from the agency that states that the rent has been paid (CCJ was for not paid rent), but there are court, solicitors and bailiffs fees which are not paid.
    To clarify my CCJ is for unpaid rent. (no mention of court fees etc)
    Will I get a satisfaction certificate after all?
