Halifax Account Acceptance

Hi
I have just applied for a Halifax current account online, I have a repaired credit rating so was expecting everything to be fine. However at the end of the application for a joint account I was just told I will be informed within 7 days if I have been successful.
Is this a polite way of telling me I havent been and I will get the usual letter in the post? I was expecting an instant response (as Natwest do) giving me a reference number etc.

When you apply for a Halifax account online they'll straight away say either 'Yes', 'No' or 'Maybe'.
You have got 'Maybe'.
So you'll have to wait and see ... it could easily go either way when you get the letter in the post.0 -
Thanks for that. Wouldnt be the end of the world if I didnt as I have a Natwest current account, but they refuse to give me any type of credit, where as Halifax have recently given me a credit card so thought I would give them a go!0

Good luck with the Halifax application.
RE: Natwest - they often say yes (too often) at the end of an online application but the further checks that they run upon receipt of the signed paperwork also (all too) often leads to a decline - worst yet they have been known to send out a debit card, chequebook, online banking bumph, and only then tell the customer they've been declined!
At least the decision Halifax comes to will be final:beer:
Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Signup for online banking, then add the acc and sort code they give you. It will say the decision0
