General banking question!

Hi,
I get paid on the last banking day of every month. So pay day was Monday 31st January last month - and this month it's Monday 28th February. On the few instances over the past couple of years where pay day is a Monday - some of my mates have been paid on the Saturday whereas I'm left counting the pennies til Monday morning!
I'm with Nationwide whereas my mates banking ranges from some of the Northern Ireland banks - to Halifax, Santander, Smile etc.
Any rwason why Nationwide wouldn't process my pay til Sunday night whereas other banks seem to do it on the Friday night?
Thanks!!

Although it shows on Saturday, it will be dated as Monday morning. This effectively means the money isn't there to spend yet.0

There's a positive to this as well - any payments due out of your account on a Monday won't leave until the Monday. Any payments due out of your mates' accounts on a Monday will leave the previous Friday night.0
