no claims bonus

I have not owned a car since 1999, this is due to me having a vehicle provided by the company.Having now retired I have decided to purchase a small car just for local travel,unfortunately the insurance quotes I have been getting are ridiculous owing to the fact that in the eyes of the insurers I havn't a no claims history, having been on the company insurance policy. I have not had any accidents or claims since 1999 (scallies tried to steal my car and pulled the steering wheel off) and have driven between 25 and 35 thousand annually. Does anyone know an insurance company that would take this into consideration or how to get round this problem.

See if a local broker (not swinton) can get you an introductory discount to reflect your company car driving history.

I built up 22 years claim free driving until 2008 when I got a new job with a company car. No claims bonus now zero in the eyes of the insurance even though i`ve done over 80,000 miles in the company car.

Luckily someone on this forum told me Aviva accept 3 years old NCB but I think that`s the maximum.

Still cost me £700 for a 0.7cc car :mad:
