Cant see that person walking without the cash.
Who can blame them either.Not Again0 -
You've constructed a plausible fantasy to confirm your prejudices about public sector workers.
Ok I admit some of it was made up - it wasn't several months ago it was Jan 2010.
The person I interviewed had 32 days annual leave and worked flexi - he was surprised (incredulous) that this wasn't standard in SMEs0 -

Indeed. Same with this one:I have spoken to many public sector people who find the idea of being dismissed for not achieving a target to be totally unbelievable. Totally different mindset.
They're all public sector specialists since they read an article about a bouncy castle attendant in the Daily Mail.0 -

How many public sectors employees would you say have been dismissed for themselves or their team failing to to hit target?
The figure for incompetant teachers being fired is around 7 in the last 10 years.0 -

I'd go with the same number of people in the private sector. You just hear about them as they don't tend to make good news.0 -
The trouble is the private sector can't afford to pay for public sector employees to continue in the same numbers as before in the public sector. Whether there are jobs for them in the private sector is neither here nor there really. The figure for incompetant teachers being fired is around 7 in the last 10 years.
The number is 18 in the past 40 years:

In a private sector company I worked in (a good while ago) I found out that the severance packages were relatively higher (i.e. extra multiples of salary) the more elevated your position was. This was of course supposed to be secret (sorry I meant confidential), when I enquired why this was so I was told it would be more difficult for the higher echelons to find employment at equivalent pay, nuff said, was my response:)'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

Some good points there, many bad teachers are given the ultimatum of be sacked or leave of your own volition, most sensibly do the latter.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is.
