Amended tax credits and 30 hour element

My wife claims tax credits jointly with me. She has just changed jobs and is now working 29 hours per week. I still work 30 hours per week or more, however, on advising HMRC about the change in our circumstances they have written with details of our amended tax credits and have stopped the 30 hour element.
Can anyone tell me if that is right because I thought as long as one of us worked more than 30 hours we would still receive it?
Thanks
