I'm thinking of doing this too.
On top cash you get £35.35 cashback for opening the account too - has anybody been successful at this? Thinking of both DH and myself applying for accounts and clarity credit cards as I'm disenchanted with Nationwide now.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Just be aware of the overdraft fees. I was overdrawn with Nationwide for about 3 days (under £50) and they charged me 5p. I would have paid £3 with Halifax.
That's one of the reasons I bounce my payment through (the other is a long standing hatred of the appalling way they treated the staff of the Leeds Permanent building society when they merged with them - now the same thing could likely happen to them!)
