See the Garmin Nuvi 245 Sat Nav on offer at Amazon for £68 and wondererd if anyone has used it and if so would they recommend it.

Seems reasonable to me as it includes western European maps but would appreciate any advice/guidance as I know little about sat nav.

For the money it's a good buy. However, I'd pay a bit more and get a wide screen model.

I have an all singing, all dancing, Garmin but, to be honest, I don't use most of the bells and whistles. When I bought it I needed US maps and it was the only model available with them built in.

After my TomTom died last year, I have decided to buy a Garmin next as the reviews are much better than the tomtom reviews. I'm going to get the Garmin 1690, it has european maps on but also has the traffic stuff for free, which i think is a definate plus.

Thanks guys - appreciate the feedback. Just looked at the Garmin 1690 and see they start at £150 and to be honest for all the use I'll make of it not worth the extra £82.
