This is bad advice.
If you don't tell your insurer you break the conditions of your policy.
In this multi vehicle/bike incident there is bound to be at least one claim made by one of the parties involved.
Thus all details of those involved will go on the CUE database, and anyone not reporting this will get found out - maybe when making a claim in future, allowing the insurer to reject it due to this non disclosure.0 -

Yep, even your own insurer is on the claims band wagon, and now tell me they don't condone it:mad::mad:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Wait the guy who hit you has instructed a solicitor to do that?
If so, then no informal settlements. Do this 100% by the book i.e. claim through your insurance or through a separate claims management company. Do not speak to their solicitor, have your own deal with them.
I'm normally an advocate of settling privately, but after that there would be absolutely no chance.
I'm with LUM on this one, keep it all above board, as almost certainly the driver that hit you is going for a claim up with the guy behind.
Have heard stories of some people that have rear ended somebody only to try and sue them for injury, even though they hit the person they are suing, especially funny when the person they hit wasn't actually in the car at the time.0 -

I think advising a course of action that could lead the OP to be uninsured in the event of a serious accident in the future is not really the best idea.0 -
Then total damage to my bike is around £50.
You dont say what the damage is, but it may be worth having the damage assessed before accepting any payment.0
