When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:j:j:j

Good morning all you DFWers. Looks like i'm the only one ready for work then!! I'm doing an hour overtime this morning and another one after work so I'm almost ready to dive out of the door.

pixie I don't do the motivational stuff either so we'll have to wait for DNMS to come along :D

So far I have:
  • fed and watered the chickens
  • boxed up 3x half dozen eggs to see if I get any takers at work
  • checked banking
  • grabbed a can of soup for lunch
I will also:
  • take bike to work as DH needs to go into town and isn't out of bed yet
  • charge mobile at work
  • keep an eye on surveys
  • take some stitching to do at lunchtime
  • just buy a couple of rolls to go with my soup - no bread indoors
  • do 2x hour overtime
  • re-do my salary and get a cheque drawn for the overtime payments - I just love doing the payroll :rotfl:
  • spend the evening in the sewing room:j
That's all for me folks, catch up later, stitchy x

Well, up early for me, considering it's half term;) I have my niece here with my 2 and we're off shopping....meet my sis and younger niece for lunch and a wander...fab. So, not a very MSE day I doubt....:o:o

Also, I have a confession:o:o (Going to say it quietly and hope no-one hears...)....yesterday I ordered an iphone...it's coming on Fri, my birthday gift to myself;) I'm very excited...was a good deal of course, £106 cashback more than covered the cost of the phone...and will be £15 a month more on my contract...hmmm.

    Ok, time for my list.
    • check banking - all ok, still looking good from my bursary payment...though some of that will be spent today.
    • check onepoll
    • meal from stores tonight - just me here, girls staying with niece and her dad
    • heating off during the day
    • back to college work - have had a weekend off
    • enjoy the peace tonight...soaps and early night
    • Sparkle.....:cool::cool:
Ok, that's me - off to dry my hair.
Have a fabby day you lot:A

ETA: Just checked yesterday's thread - dnms, yes I've seen pics of your OH, he is a very handsome chap, you lucky girly eh?! No, actually....he's the lucky one:A
I really need to sort out a new signature!
  • ah u guys ur so sweet but I'm struggling with the flu at the moment so being motivational isn't top of my list right now! I'm up eating porridge & getting ready to go so that'll do me ;) I do think though if we all put our minds to being positive today (concentrate on what we can do rather than what we can't) the working day will fly by and then the real time will begin :T

    small list for me today:
    • take note of mileage to reclaim as am driving to London
    • contact payroll and find out why I didn't get my overtime piad...
    • stop at supermarket to get a sandwich & fruit (not technically DFW you would think but if don't I will get hit by hunger buy expensive things & blow my diet!)
    • dinner from stores
    • remind oh to get a film for us to watch tonight
try to sparkle & feel better

    Today I will:
    Check bank balances

Keep an eye on Ebay (Have 8 items on sale which finish tomorrow, its a bit addictive!)
    Have homemade lunch
    Make homemade dinner
    Make soup for lunchs
    Make muesli
Declutter (DH home this week, so might make some progress with this!)

Hope you all have a good day.

Happy Monday all, really enjoying life at the moment.

    Today have:
-Brought my delivery from milk and more inside (£10 of free groceries)
-Transfered money from paypal too my account for ebay items.

    Today I will:
    - Check mystery shopper sites for any new assignments
    - Sort through the rest of my junk ready to post up on ebay on Thursday.
    - Breakfast and lunch provided by work
    - Gym after work (making use of £14.99 a month)
    - Then I was planning soup for dinner, but may go for scrambled eggs or a bacon sarnie now my delivery arrived.

    Have a good one y'all!

  • Morning all - hope it's not as rainy where you are as it is here!

Start of half term for me too, and the girls need some new items of clothing (they also want quite a few, but I'll be making the distinction!), so not really an MSE day for me. My elder daughter has just graduated to women's clothing, and she's taking after her mother in that jeans need to be long and thin - horrible feeling Gap might be the only reasonable option

    However, I will/have:

    - checked online banking
    - we have lots of baked stuff from the weekend to snack on
    - make up menu and shopping list for the week
    - heating's off for the day
    - dinner from menu
    - homemade soup for lunch
    - I will not be indulging in buying anything for myself in town

Wishing you all a good Monday :D

In my house the opposite is true! I could easily de-clutter on my own. Same goes for housework - last night DH came home from 4 days away and this morning the living room looks like a bomb's hit it and there's a dirty saucepan in my lovely clean sink
