jsa stopped. Apparently NOT allowed to appeal?
I've has so much trouble with the Jobcentre. I'd really aprecaite some advice.
Im 17, i left full time higher education in june, i was caring for my mum who has now passed.
I was advised to put in a claim for income support and did. I was accepted, suspened so many times it unreal.
I was then told to claim JS, I made a cv, went round shops and put them in, asked about available positions etc. Applied for jobs online, rang adverts from newspaper & provided proof of this.
But they still stopped my JS and about a week later i recieved a letter, telling me that it had been cancelled and i was NOT allowed to appeal.
I wrote the the MP, The under 18's adviser replied and basicly called me a liar. He has also called me stupid on multiple ocassions in the Jobcentre and ofcourse you're not allowed to argue back, he even asked me to leave the building. I didnt even do anything.
Im living with my partner (17) and my biological mother. My MUM was my nan, but she adopted me, and as i mentioned has now passed. My bio mum gave up her rights. She dosent support me financially. Im now suffering with depression too. I've been apointed a CPN, with priority house.
Im not getting any money, i live council as it was left in trust for me. I'm meant to pay £10 a week towards the rent, and cant. The council have taken over payments (housing benifit) because i've proved i have nothing.
What more can i do, im sick of this. Oh and they in his reply he also stated that they had overpayed me, but that was no fault of my own hahaha. Yeah fat chance, i was without money most of the time.
How do i go about this, how can they take away my right to opinion. Not only that, i tried to ring the number on the letter and it wasnt even theirs it was a random business!

Does your partner and mum work, are you the sole tenant of the house or is it your (b) mums house, have you registered with connexionsForums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0

No, she isnt my mum. She had her rights taken away by magistrates when i was a baby. My nan adopted me. Also my partner (17) dosent work, we was both claiming JSA and they stopped both and yes i have registred with connexions, i went to my appointments as well. We both did.0

Hi F
Just so you know i'm reading i put (b) in front of mum as i am aware of your nan being your mum, there is a possibility of claiming a hardship payment for you both due to age and being in a vulnerable group.
Vulnerable groups7A client who has been disqualified from receiving JSA (either because of a sanction or because of doubt about whether s/he meets the labour market conditions) may be eligible for hardship payments immediately if neither the client nor her/his partner is entitled to income support or, from 27 October 2008, income-related employment and support allowance (ESA), and:- s/he or her/his partner is aged under 18 and would suffer hardship if no payment is made.
I would suggest you get help from a CAB or other advice agency to help with applying, proving hardship-on the grounds of possible homelessness, lack of income in the household, both come to mind.
You may be able to apply for ESA which is a sickness benefit but this depends on your depression and how it affects your capbility of work.
Please go to an advice agency in your area for face to face advice and assistance with applying.
I wish you luck.
PS Have connexions mentioned any payment you may be entitled to, i thought you'd get an allowance for participating on the scheme.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0 -
Nope, i wasnt put on any schemes. Was just told to come once every two weeks. So id have signing on one week, connexions the next. I will try to go to cab tomorow and our claim was under hardship because we are under 180

I've been working with under 18's delivering sessions recently and they receive an allowance for participating on different courses, speak to your adviser there. This may have been because at the time you were receiving JSA but your circumstances have now changed, ask your partner to register too.
The £10 you say you have to pay, is this a non dependant deduction 'cause your Bio mum lives with you, this should be her responsibility to pay you this and in effect pay towards other household billsForums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0
